Karen McKellar - LTC Team Leader & OIS
In this position I will support the Medical Practices and Nurses with Cardio-Vascular Risk assessments and Diabetes. My clinical experience as a Registered Nurse is many years working at Waikato Hospital in varying roles.
Six of these years were spent in the Haemodialysis Outpatient Unit. Four years as a Clinical Nurse Specialist setting up patients with their Haemodialysis and supporting them in their own homes. This was an incredibly rewarding time.
I spent 18 months District Nursing in Hamilton where I completed a Post Grad Wound Care paper through the University of Auckland. I spent a further 2 years District Nursing in Morrinsville. I then took on the challenge of Practice Nursing for Te Korowai Hauora o Hauraki in Te Aroha for 2 years.
I live in Morrinsville with my husband and we intend to move to the Coromandel in the next year. I am looking forward to the new learning and challenges the position will provide.
