You will be aware that four cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Auckland that, at this point, cannot be traced. Waikato, with the rest of the country, moved to Level 2 from 12 noon today (12 August) until midnight Friday (14 August). The Prime Minister and Director General of Health are giving twice daily updates where further information will be provided. You will be well aware that as a contracted health provider members of your staff are essential workers. Further specific advice will be forthcoming and we will ensure that our team, and in particular your funding and relationship manager, is linked in with you. While there will be an increase in public concern following confirmation of these cases, we have our escalation processes and procedures ready to activate so that Waikato DHB is well placed to deal with any resurgence of COVID-19.
