Covid Home Monitoring Version 9 + Maternity

22/12/2021

Please find enclosed the version 9 of “Primary care home monitoring of COVID-19 or undifferentiated respiratory illness.”
There have been a large amount of changes to the document, though the risk stratification remains the same.
While I appreciate that there have been 8 previous versions, I would recommend reading the whole document.
Significant changes are:

  •          GPs will now receive information on isolation requirements, but are still not responsible for enforcing
  •          Information on after-hours and weekends and holidays and safe transfer of care
  •          Update on pulse oximeter availability
  •          Updated contact details
  •          New information on use of prophylactic budesonide for “at-risk” cases

Please also find attached a new Management of COVID-19 Positive wahine in Pregnancy
This is a new document to help both GPs and LMCs manage pregnant women with COVID-19.
The underlying message is that both LMC and GP will need to work together as a team to be able to offer safe care for these women.
