PPE for publicly funded health and disability providers

3/4/2020

Earlier this week we advised an initial distribution of 1.2 million general purpose masks would be released to DHBs for distribution to publicly funded health and disability providers, including those not funded by DHBs, such as disability providers or ACC providers. We have provided DHBs with a list of some non DHB-funded providers to make this process easier.
continued...
We have directed a PPE coordinator at each DHB to communicate with providers in their area to determine their need for masks. As well as gathering address and contact details, the coordinators have been asked to gather details from providers about the number of staff and contractors they have, how many of these are involved in clinical roles, how many masks are being sought and how long these will be expected to last. The information will be used to inform future distributions.
This is a large task, which will be carried out with haste. We ask that providers allow DHBs a few days to make initial contact and only enquire with their DHB if they have not heard from them by COB on Monday 6 April.
Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment during this time.
