Registered Nurse Support for the Managed Isolation Facilities - Message from WDHB

2/7/2020

Tena koutou,

As many of you will be aware Waikato DHB, with other agencies, has set up the first of what may be a number of Managed Isolation Facilities (MIF) in the Waikato area.
continued...
A major part of the  health response is to provide a roster of Registered Nurses who provide screening, assessment and swabbing for the guests at the MIF.

I am reaching out to Registered Nurses, with a current practising certificate who might be looking for extra shift work across the weekends and or evenings. This weekend and onwards.

I personally visited our first MIF today and what I saw was a well-run service with a strong supported team of nurses.  The nurses work in PPE and have medical support in the managed isolation environment. This is a great opportunity to develop skills in this area and be part of the coordinated health system response.
There will be:
  • Training provided
  • PPE to use whilst working
  • Meals are provided
If you are interested please contact Megan Abraham Megan.Abraham@waikatodhb.health.nz  who can assist you with the next steps.

Ngaa mihi nui,

Phil
