COVID-19 VACCINE UPDATES

How to Check Vaccine Eligibility

27/7/2022

Today checking eligibility for vaccinations and reviewing consumer information in CIR has become easier. We have updated the profile page to be a one-stop shop for COVID and flu (recorded on CIR) vaccination records. On this updated page you will find:
  • Clearly visible last vaccination dates
  • Historical COVID vaccination records including date and type of vaccination
  • Historical CIR-recorded flu vaccination records and a more info button to see the details of the vaccination
  • A document request button, meaning that a case is no longer required for mask exemptions
  • Buttons to commence COVID and flu vaccinations
  • A cancelled vaccination switch, which can be used to show cancelled vaccinations that are hidden

Qualifying and NHI matching consumers for vaccination after Book My Vaccine bug

27/7/2022

There have been some occasions where Book My Vaccine has not been asking consumers who are booking a second booster to verify their date of birth. This means that there may be some people who have been able to book out of age range vaccination, additionally this has impacted the ability to match a person to their NHI automatically. Please ensure you are completing the full qualification of your consumers prior to vaccination and please ensure you are matching the person to the correct NHI using the booking search or today’s bookings. For more details of please refer to:
  • The Seven Rights of COVID19 Vaccination
  • Eligibility of COVID-19 Vaccines
  • Complete a booking without an NHI match

COVID-19 Vaccination update

17/7/2022

Kia ora koutou,
As part of the continuous improvement and ongoing enhancements to the COVID Immunisation Register (CIR) and Book My Vaccine (BMV), new functionality is being released on Wednesday evening, 13 July 2022.

CIR Enhancements:
There are two enhancements which will support CIR users:
  • Record Novavax (Nuvaxovid) Second Booster Doses: Update to enable CIR users to record a Novavax second booster dose using the ‘Novavax Booster Plan’.

Please note: The Minimum Early Vaccination Warning Message will display where a Novavax second booster dose is attempted to be recorded in CIR and it has not been at least 6 calendar months since the consumer received their first booster. The Under Minimum Age warning message will display where the Novavax Booster Plan is selected for a consumer aged under 18-years-old.

  • Record AstraZeneca Second Booster Doses: Update to enable CIR users to record an AstraZeneca second booster dose using the ‘AstraZeneca Booster Plan’.

Please note: The Minimum Early Vaccination Warning will display where an AstraZeneca second booster dose is attempted to be recorded in CIR and it has not been at least 6 calendar months since the consumer received their first booster. The Under Minimum Age warning message will display where the AstraZeneca Booster Plan is selected for a consumer aged under 18-years-old.

BMV Enhancements:
There are several usability enhancements for BMV users:
  • Book a Second Booster Dose of Novavax: Update to allow consumers the option of booking a Novavax second booster dose. Consumers can book their Novavax second booster dose at least 6 months (185 days) after the completion of their first booster dose.

Please note: An error message will display where a Novavax second booster booking is attempted to be made for a consumer aged under 18-years-old and the booking will be unable to be completed.

  • Book a Second Booster Dose of AstraZeneca: Update to allow consumers the option of booking an AstraZeneca second booster dose. Consumers can book their AstraZeneca second booster dose at least 6 months (185 days) after the completion of their first booster dose.

  • Novavax and AstraZeneca Translations: Update to add translations describing AstraZeneca boosters and Novavax boosters for Māori, Samoan and Tongan languages.

AVMS Enhancements:
There are two enhancements which will support AVMS users:
  • Novavax Second Booster Plan: Update to add a new Novavax Second Booster Plan to the Job Record in AVMS. This means, where a Site Admin or Concierge views the Job Record in AVMS for a Novavax booster booking, the Vaccine Plan Description will display as ‘Novavax Booster Plan 2’, and the Vaccine Description will display as ‘Novavax Booster 2’.
