The Age Concern Visiting Service is available via GP and Nurse practitioner service providers throughout the Waikato. Our aim is to provide companionship and support for older people who may be lonely and socially isolated. View website: https://ageconcern.gen.nz/WhatWeDo/VisitingService.aspx to find out more. A digital copy of the Visiting Service referral form & information brochure is attached. This service is available to anyone over 65+ (55+ for Maori clients), living in the community who are at risk of social isolation due to having no or very visitors. It can also be of benefit to the partner of a client who has become the main carer giver, which can quite often be a very lonely role. continued...
Our visiting service is run by caring volunteers who give their time to visit with your client once a week for about an hour – there is no cost for the service. It is usually the same volunteer who will visit, usually on a day and time that suits them both. It is important that you discuss the service with your client and that they do agree to having someone visit with them (you will notice this in the grey highlighted box on the referral form that needs completing). As we have three Coordinators covering Hamilton and the greater Waikato region; please email all referrals to: enquiries@ageconcern.gen.nz Click here for the Client brochure Click here for the AVS Client referral form Warmest regards Nga mihi nui, Michelle Mackie Accredited Visiting Service Co-ordinator | Age Concern Hamilton Comments are closed.
