Sexual Violence - New Website and Resources: Please share with your networks

5/10/2021

The website https://sexualviolence.victimsinfo.govt.nz/ was created by the Ministry of Justice to help victim/survivors of sexual violence (and their friends, family and whānau) understand the reporting, investigation and court process. The website was developed in partnership with victim/survivors, specialist sexual violence services, Police and Justice staff.

The website provides pivotal information about reporting and the court process should it be needed or of interest. You will find that the site and its video resources are available in English and Te Reo Māori and that the site has quick exit functionality. The website also debunks common misconceptions about sexual harm, along with the differing forms it can take.

I have attached (should it be appropriate or needed) a printable pdf of the court process. We also currently have wallet cards (reference attached) available free of charge. The thinking behind this is that it could be something for people to discreetly pick up in reception, and/or for nurses to hand out as needed.

If this is something that your health practice/s would be interested in, please contact
moj-fvsv@justice.govt.nz
