Nga Manukura o Apopo: Clinical Leadership Programme for Maori Nurses/Midwives – enrolments open for March 2020

This Clinical Leadership Programme has been running since 2010 and has a strong reputation for contributing to building the leadership capacity and capability of Maori Nurses and Midwives. It is recommended for ex-graduates (from RN/RM 3) who have completed their post grad cert to support their ongoing development as Māori health practitioners. Participants complete a project involving change to improve Māori health outcomes.

 

For participants to be eligible for the programme, they must be: Māori; have a current Annual Practising Certificate for Nursing or Midwifery; committed to positive health outcomes for Māori; committed to attending all four noho Marae; have the support of your employer (if applicable); and committed to completing the programme.Details for the programme are Nga Manukura Enrolment form attached Enrolment Form

 

The dates for the next cohort are:

  • Wananga Tuatahi: 19 & 20 March 2020
  • Wananga Tuarua: 16 & 17 April 2020
  • Wananga Tuatoru: 21 & 22 May 2020
  • Wananga Tuawha: 25 & 26 June 2020The programme costs are covered. You/your organization need to release you for the training days, contribute a small koha to the marae on the day of the powhiri as part of the  powhiri process. (e.g. $10 - $20). The wananga consists of 8 days (4 x 2 day wananga) and will be at Te Kohinga Marama Marae,  University of Waikato, Gate 4,  Hillcrest Rd, Hamilton. Starts 9am/Thursday and finishes 3pm/Friday.
