This November, the Heart Foundation is running an Atrial Fibrillation (AF) Awareness campaign.
In preparation for the public awareness phase of the campaign we are offering you and your colleagues a free Goodfellow Webinar where specialists will present and discuss Strategies for Identifying and Managing AF:
Save the date: 7:30 pm – 8:45 pm Tuesday, 5 November 2019
Registration at goodfellowunit.org.nz will open in October and we will let you know.
AF is a condition which causes an irregular and often rapid heart rate and can lead to stroke and heart failure. A recent study estimated nearly one in 35 New Zealanders between the age of 35 and 74 have been diagnosed with AF - that’s more than 60,000 Kiwis. And it’s likely there are many more who don’t know they have it.
Our public awareness activity in the week 18-24 November 2019 will raise awareness for the importance of a pulse check and promote self-monitoring.
We are pleased to offer you educational support on AF through the Goodfellow Webinar and will keep you updated on ways to get involved in the campaign over the next few weeks.
