eReferrals

14 Dec 2017

Issues viewing and selecting some inbox documents in eReferrals - Waikato DHB moved their clinic letters and discharge documents into a new electronic format in 2017. This enables practices to receive these documents securely into your patient inbox where previously they were mailed and then scanned into Medtech. With this update a new file type was introduced that can be viewed in the patient record, however this file type was not available for BPAC to display in the eReferral system and therefore you cannot view and click to easily add them to your eReferrals.

Many referrers are currently using work arounds to send this information as part of an eReferral e.g. copying and pasting into the eReferral, printing and then rescanning into the inbox, or referring the Waikato triage clinician to the information that will be held on the patients secondary care record. BPAC has been working with Medtech to resolve this issue and the fix is targeted for the early Feb 2018 Medtech update. The fix will allow referrers to view all the Waikato DHB documents in the investigations tab of the eReferral and click to add them.
