Contraception Survey - closes 16 December

20 Nov 2019

The Ministry of Health wants to build the quality and consistency of contraception services in New Zealand by developing national guidelines on contraception. National guidelines will be complemented by the development and implementation of clinician training. The Ministry of Health has contracted:

  • Allen + Clarke to develop the national contraception guidelines, and
  • New Zealand Family Planning to develop and implement a national training programme focused on best practice culturally and youth-friendly contraceptive advice and best practice insertion and removal of LARC.

To inform the guidelines, Allen + Clarke is undertaking a survey of guidelines and guidance material used by health professionals to inform their contraception services. New Zealand Family Planning is seeking information about training. We will deliver this work by joint survey.

The survey has two components based on whether you are an organisation or individual clinical staff. The two components are run through one survey.

We are hoping you, or a representative from your organisation, can help us with the survey in two ways:

  1. Completing the organisational survey about guidelines and guidance material development and training at an organisational level AND
  2. Sending the same survey link (Below) to individual doctors, nurses, midwives, pharmacists and other relevant clinical staff within your organisation so that they can complete the individual survey about their clinical contraception services and training.

Here is a link to the survey:

The survey should take no longer than 15 minutes.

Your participation is voluntary; but we value your contribution to the development of national best practice guidelines and the development and implementation of a training programme.

If you have any questions about the project, you can contact Allen + Clarke’s project manager, Anna Gribble, on:
