I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know that Keriana Brooking has resigned from her position of Deputy Director-General of Health System Improvement and Innovation at the Ministry of Health. I’m really pleased to be able to let you know that she has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of the Hawkes Bay DHB. While we will miss her greatly, I couldn’t be more pleased to see a leader of Keriana’s calibre take on this role.
For me it has been particularly satisfying to have one the Ministry’s Executive Leadership Team move into this important leadership role within the sector. The partnership we have with DHBs is crucial and I am incredibly proud and supportive of Keriana stepping into this role to continue her leadership journey.
Recognising the critical role that Keriana is playing as part of our COVID-19 response, the Hawkes Bay DHB have kindly agreed to delay her start until 5 October 2020.
I will continue to keep you updated as we work together over the coming months to deliver health and disability services for New Zealand.
